Meetings and events show EIBTM is to include business travel for the first time at its trade show in Barcelona this November.
Reed Travel Exhibitions, which also owns the Business Travel Market held annually in London, announced that EIBTM would feature business travel at the show from November 27-29.
Corporate travel activities will include an exhibitor pavilion on the showfloor and education sessions run by ACTEAssociation of Corporate Travel Executives: A non-profit association that represents the global business travel industry. It provides executive-level educational programmes and carries out independent industry research. Its members come from all areas of business travel - from corporate buyers to suppliers. Organisers said that it had decided to make the move after research from last year?s show found that 57 per cent of international hosted buyers also had responsibility for business travel within their companies.
Graeme Barnett, EIBTM event director, said: ?The incorporation of business travel to EIBTM is a logical extension to the current show profile.
?We are very excited about the new possibilities and increased return on investment that it will deliver for our exhibitors already operating in this field, as well as introducing new specialist buyers and suppliers to the event.?
EIBTM, which is celebrating its 25th birthday this year, has also formed a ?strategic partnership? with ACTE to provide the educational sessions at the show.
Ron DiLeo, ACTE executive director, said: "This collaboration is extremely timely, as business travel and meetings continue to converge.
?Face-to-face meetings are vital to business success and a healthy economy. Executives must travel to network and push forward initiatives.?
Business Travel Market is scheduled to take place next year at Excel from June 19-20.
