Are Your Family Members Bothered By Your Snoring? Achieve ...

Many people snore, but they are self conscious about it.

Yet, this article is here to help you with just that, use the advice from this article and learn what you can do to rid yourself of snoring as you sleep.

This could be hard when you have a partner that snores or if you snore.

Those mucus producing dairy products will block your airways, and cause excessive snoring.

Nasal strips can cut down on snoring. They stick to your nose and pull up your nostrils, opening them and permitting more air to travel through.

When your nostrils are kept wide open throughout the night, you are less likely to snore. However, nasal strips aren?t recommended if you have sleep apnea.

If you are a smoker and you snore, you may want to consider quitting smoking.

Pot will make your throat relax and collapse while you sleep. Of course pain killers that you find on the street have these same relaxing effects as well.

Being fully relaxed feels great when you're conscious, but it?s not so good when you?re snoring in your sleep.

Do anything that you can to quit smoking. Smoking any tobacco products will harm your respiratory system, resulting in serious health problems, not least of which includes chronic snoring.

You snore because your airways are somewhat obstructed. Having a firm pillow will help to open your passageways and keep them that way.

Even though it can sound silly, singing may eliminate your snoring.

You should drink at least eight glasses of water every day to avoid snoring.

While it may be difficult to face, losing excess weight can end your snoring problem. When you are carrying excess weight, the extra fat cells all distributed all over your body, including around your throat.

Reduce or eliminate your alcohol consumption, if you are bothered by snoring. Another way that you can help diminish snoring is to stay away from pills or antihistamines in the later hours of the night.

Although the reasons aren?t entirely clear, left side sleeping seems to be better than sleeping on your right side or your back.

Getting plenty of sleep can help to reduce the amount of snoring you do throughout the night.

Turn over to sleep on one side at night to cut down on snoring. People who lie on their backs are more likely to snore.

Sleeping while laying on your stomach creates stress in your back and neck. Side-sleeping is just right; your airways stay open, and your body isn?t strained.

When snoring is a problem, you need to think about the possibility that allergies are responsible, and seek treatment.

Allergies can lead to swollen nasal passages, which may cause you to breathe from your mouth.

This kind of breathing is a big contributor to snoring. Try allergy medications that you get over the counter and see if they work for you. If not, you?re doctor may need to prescribe you something.

Try not to fall asleep in a supine position. When you sleep on your back, it makes your throat relax, which ends up causing a drop in the soft palate.

This, however, is simply not true. You can take many steps and use many different treatments to reduce the severity of snoring or even eliminate it entirely.

With what you have learned in this article, hopefully you will be able to minimize how much and how often you snore. Apply the tips and keep trying; you should be done with snoring very soon.

Apnea and snoring does not have to be a nightmare! it is perfectly treatable. get a good nights sleep now.snoring

'The Hunger Games,' a Japanese Original?

TOKYO - The story takes place in a dystopian future.

A tyrannical government, fearful of its youth, forces teens to fight to their death in a televised game.

Forty-two high school students are taken to a deserted island, given survival packs and random weapons, and told to hunt and kill one another, until there's just one survivor - the winner - left.

The plot-line is a familiar one to fans of the popular book series "The Hunger Games," but this?movie, released eight years before Suzanne Collins's books, takes place in Japan. Released in 2000, "Battle Royale," based on a 600-page novel by Japanese author Koushun Takami, became an instant cult classic, winning critical acclaim from Hollywood heavyweights such as director Quentin Tarantino, who called the violent film "his favorite movie of the last 20 years."

But the movie was never distributed in the United States because the film was deemed too gory at the time, in the aftermath of the Columbine shootings. With "The Hunger Games" movie set for release this Friday, fans of the Japanese classic have raised new questions about the authenticity of Collins' film, sparking a fierce debate online.

Critics of the American film have taken to Twitter to accuse Collins of "ripping off" a Japanese original. Her fans have posted YouTube videos defending the authenticity of the book's plotline. Grievances have been aired on Facebook pages, titled "Hunger Games is a rip-off of Battle Royale" and "Hunger Games wouldn't exist if it weren't for Battle Royale."

Questions about Takami's book have dogged Collins since she released her popular series in 2008, although the author has flatly denied prior knowledge of the book at every step.

She told the New York Times last year,??"I had never heard of that book or that author until my book was turned in. At that point, it was mentioned to me, and I asked my editor if I should read it. He said: "No, I don't want that world in your head. Just continue what you're doing."

The Times said Collins had yet to read the book or see the movie, although it's unclear whether the author has sought out the film since.

In a video posted by her publisher Scholastic, Collins says the storyline was instead inspired by reality-TV and the Iraq war. "These two things started to fuse together in a very unsettling way," she says.

Both Toei, the distributor of the Japanese film and the son of late director Kinji Fukasaku, declined ABC News' requests for an interview, saying it would be premature to comment without reading the book or watching the movie.

Author Takami did not return calls for comment.

Still, the similarities are difficult to ignore. Both evolve around children who are picked at random to take part in a death match televised on a game show. Participants are given explosive collars and duffel bags containing random weapons. The tyrannical government ships them off to a remote island, where they are told to kill and fight for survival. The protagonists of both films come from broken families.

Collins' fans say the similarities end there. For one, "The Hunger Games" is told in narrative form, through the eyes of Katniss Everdeen, unlike "Battle Royale." While the Japanese film is about the fight for survival, fans argue the U.S. movie is about a revolution.

It is a science-fiction film that takes place in a distant future, in a dramatically different environment. "Battle Royale" also takes place in the future, but society remains relatively unchanged for the characters, meaning they're familiar with the weapons and technology involved in the game.

The ongoing debate has meant welcome publicity for Anchor Bay Entertainment, which just released a four-disc set called "Battle Royale: The Complete Collection" on DVD and Blu-ray, the first time the Japanese film and its sequel have been widely distributed in the United States.

The trailer references the upcoming movie, quoting a movie critic who writes "without 'Battle Royale,' there would be no 'The Hunger Games.' This is the movie that started it all."

While bootlegs and imports have made the film a cult phenomenon in the past decade, the film was considered highly controversial when it first debuted in Japan. The country's ratings board fought to give the movie an 18-plus rating - the equivalent of a rated R - because of its graphic depiction of violence, despite protests by the director himself.

This isn't the first time Hollywood has been accused of borrowing Japanese story lines. In 1995, Disney's "The Lion King" was accused of ripping off the Japanese animation series "Kimba, the White Lion." ?

The company denied the charges, saying the similarities were coincidence.

WHO WANTS TO BE YOU??

By Gary Sorenson, CEA, CLCS, PLCS, President, Insurance Brokers of Minnesota

Nine million. That?s how many Americans have their identities stolen each year, estimates the Federal Trade Commission.

Identity Theft a Common Risk

From January 2005 until November 2011, a staggering?543 million personal records were breached, reported the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse. The FTC noted that, in half of the criminal incidents in 2005, thieves obtained goods or services worth $500 or less. In 10% of cases, thieves stole at least $6,000.

ID theft has only been a crime since 1998, when Congress passed the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act, but it?s escalated as a problem. Not only do criminals use identity theft to steal assets, they also commit crimes in the name and character of the victim.

The FTC urges a ?deter-detect-defend? approach to battle ID theft, which costs consumers and businesses plenty of money and time. Deterring means safeguarding personal data to make it harder to steal and misuse. Detecting means monitoring and becoming aware of irregularities that indicate data has been stolen. Defending means reporting the crime and then taking steps to regain data security, recover stolen assets and fix misused information.

Identity theft criminals commonly use six methods to steal consumer and business information:
1. ?Dumpster diving? for papers with personal information
2. ?Skimming??stealing credit/debit card numbers when a card is processed
3. ?Phishing??pretending to be a financial institution or company and sending spam e-mail messages to get people to reveal personal information
4. Changing an address by completing a change of address form to divert bills to a criminal?s location
5. Stealing wallets, mail, checks, employer personnel records and other paperwork?through breaking-and-entering physically or electronically or bribing employees who have access to information
6. ?Pretexting??using false pretenses or tricks of social engineering to obtain personal information from consumers, financial institutions, telephone companies and other sources.

Identity theft robs a victim of time that must be urgently spent to alert police, credit bureaus, financial institutions, medical providers and others. A victim has to prove an identity loss or financial loss; close accounts; write letters to government entities; and even work with a legal advocate to recover and rebuild a stolen identity.

Likewise, the costs for legal fees can quickly add up and overwhelm a stressed victim. The loss of work time also can be costly, at the very time when financial resources are under attack by a criminal.

Personal and business insurance can play a key role in the ?defend? stage of the identity theft battle. Insurers offer services to help consumers and businesses report identity theft and recover from it. Sometimes these services are included as part of a homeowners insurance package or even a?business insurance package; the cost may be included or additional.

An identity recovery package may include reimbursement of legal fees related to identity theft, as well as costs of credit reports and postage, phone, shipping fees, lost wages and child/elder care for those forced to spend time away from family to resolve the situation. The ID package also might include a limited benefit for mental health counseling for crime victims.

'Hunger Games' And 'The Raid': What Action Movies Should Be

Something is rotten in the action movie genre. For too long, we've had to sit through stale revenge stories and Taylor Lautner threatening people that he'll get them first. This week, two of the best actions movies in a long while hit the big screen and rock for some very different reasons. But there are [...]
